Web analytics
Akcento uses web analytics services, including Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site.
Google Analytics may collect information about users, sessions, approximate location, browser and device, and may use identifiers and cookies to distinguish users and sessions.
We use analytics data in aggregated form to understand traffic and improve the site. We do not send data to Google Analytics that is specifically intended to directly identify an individual.
Google Analytics settings and the use of cookies may depend on the consent mechanism used on the site and applicable law. Google provides Consent Mode mechanisms that can take a user’s choices regarding analytics and other types of data storage into account.
Cookies
Akcento may use cookies and similar technologies.
Some cookies are necessary for the site to function. For example, the site may store your selected interface language so that you do not have to choose it again on a subsequent visit.
The site may also use analytics cookies associated with Google Analytics. In its standard configuration, Google Analytics uses cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish users and maintain session state.
The cookies used on the site may change as Akcento develops and new features are added. If new services using cookies or similar tracking technologies are introduced, this policy will be updated accordingly.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Some site features may work differently as a result.
Comments
If comments are available on Akcento and you leave a comment, we may collect the information you provide in the comment form, as well as your IP address and browser information (user-agent) for the purpose of preventing spam and abuse.
The comment itself and the displayed name may be published on the site and made available to other visitors.
We recommend that you do not include personal information in a comment that you do not want to make public.
If a third-party service such as Gravatar is used to display comment avatars, the relevant data sharing will be described in this policy after the service is introduced.
Email communications
If you contact Akcento yourself by email, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any other information you choose to provide.
This information is used to respond to your message, process suggestions and corrections, and address questions related to the site.
We do not use an email address provided in such a communication for promotional messages without an appropriate legal basis or consent where required.
Embedded content
Articles on Akcento may in the future contain content from third-party websites, such as videos, images, or other embedded elements.
Such content may interact with the external website as if you had visited that website directly. A third-party service may collect technical data, use cookies, or employ other tracking technologies in accordance with its own privacy policy.
When such services are added, the relevant information will be reflected in this policy.
Sharing of data with third parties
We do not sell users’ personal data.
Some data may be processed by third-party services necessary for operating the site, such as analytics, hosting, security, or other technical providers.
When such services are used, data may be processed outside the visitor’s country of residence. As Akcento is an international project using foreign infrastructure and services, cross-border processing of data may occur.
How long we retain your data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or for the period required by applicable law.
The retention period depends on the nature of the data and the purpose of processing.
Comments, if enabled, may be retained together with associated metadata for as long as the site remains active or until deletion is necessary or appropriate.
Your rights
Depending on the laws applicable to you, you may have the right to:
- find out what personal data we process about you;
- request access to your data;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request deletion of your data where provided by law;
- withdraw previously given consent where processing is based on consent;
- object to certain types of processing;
- request restriction of processing in cases provided by law.
To exercise these rights or ask questions about privacy, please contact us at hello@akcento.net.
We may request additional information necessary to verify the identity of the requester and protect personal data from unauthorized access.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
However, no method of transmitting or storing data over the internet can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
As Akcento develops, we may add new features, services, and methods of processing data. This policy may therefore be updated.
The current version of the policy is always published on this page. The date of the latest update is shown at the beginning of the document.
